Childline reveals struggles among young people over body image


Childline delivered more than 50 counselling sessions to young people from Northern Ireland concerned about their weight or appearance in the last 12 month, the NSPCC has said.

Worries about how they look led 13 times as many girls than boys from Northern Ireland to receive counselling from Childline.

The young people revealed struggles with self-esteem due to “body-perfect” images in traditional media and social media.
