Hundreds take part in mental health march in Belfast

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Belfast last Saturday calling for more to be done to tackle suicide and mental health issues in Northern Ireland.

Among those taking part in the March for Life were members of a family from north Belfast who have lost three family members to suicide

Brothers Stephen, Kieran and Niall Ferrin have all taken their own lives.

Their mother Patricia was among those who took part in the march which went from the Albert Clock in High Street to Belfast City Hall.

Mental health campaigner, Philip McTaggart, who lost his son Philip to suicide in 2003, and MLAs Mike Nesbitt (Ulster Unionist Party), Gerry Kelly and  Carál Ní Chuilín (Sinn Fein) also took part.
