By VIEW editor Brian Pelan
I recently visited a soup kitchen in Belfast as part of putting together the forthcoming issue of VIEW which will look at homelessness.
Whilst I was there a young man came in to the room, which is beside St Patrick’s Church in Donegall Street, to get a bit of warmth and food on a very wet, miserable night.
After he had finished eating he went over to a piano in the corner of the room and proceeded to play a piece of beautiful music.
We all fell silent in the room as we listened to him playing.
An unforgettable encounter.
The VIEW issue on homelessness will go online at the end of November. The magazine is supported by Simon Community NI and Choice Housing.
