Get your wetsuit and swimming cap at the ready and join Autism NI’s CEO Kerry Boyd, parent Stuart and his son Dylan Kyle on Sunday, September 1, as Autism NI hold their ‘Swimathon’ at Let’s Go Hydro in Carryduff.
Autism NI CEO Kerry Boyd said: “We are absolutely delighted to hold our first ‘Swimathon’ and I can’t wait to take on the challenge myself. This will be a fun event for swimmers at all levels and an opportunity for participants to show support for the autism community.”
Parent Stuart Kyle said: “I was thrilled to be asked by Autism NI to support this fantastic event. I’m a keen swimmer myself and it is great to have the opportunity to enjoy this sport whilst raising money for such a worthwhile cause. As a father of a child with autism, Autism NI has been a great support to my family and Dylan over the years.”
The open water ‘Swimathon’ will include a 500m, 1K or 2K swim challenge. Starting at 9.00am and £20 to enter. Autism NI is asking local swimmers to support the charity by taking part and pledging to raise £100 each.
All funds raised from the ‘Swimathon’ will support Autism NI’s vital helpline service which is invaluable to families, individuals and professionals and supports over 4,700 individuals every year. Events like this are vital in the work the charity carries out and helps provide life-changing services and support to the 30,000 autistic individuals in Northern Ireland.
Sign up for the ‘Swimathon’ and you’ll be supporting a very worthy cause while having lots of fun. To register for this event, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
