VIEWdigital launched its print edition of VIEW magazine, which looked at the housing crisis in the Republic of Ireland, at an event in Dublin yesterday.
VIEW editor Brian Pelan, VIEWdigital co-founder Una Murphy and VIEW deputy editor Kathryn Johnson welcomed a range of people and organisations who came to the launch, which was held at the Royal Society of Antiquaries building in Merrion Square.
Among those who attended were homelessness campaigner Fr Peter McVerry, author and former Irish Times journalist Frank McDonald, David Silke, Housing Agency; and guest editor Eddie Lewis.
Tom Gilligan, Director of Services at Mayo County Council and property expert Bill Nolan also attended.
Organisations represented at the launch, included Focus Ireland, National, Economic and Social Council, Threshold, and Dublin Housing Observatory.
A special tribute was paid at the start of the event by editor Brian Pelan to housing expert Professor Paddy Gray and John O’Connor, Chief Executive of the Housing Agency, for their invaluable support for the housing issue.
