The Women’s Resource and Development Agency (WRDA), a charity which works to advance women’s equality, is offering free leadership workshops across Belfast as part of its summer programme. Women who come along will have a chance to get their voices heard regarding their experiences and needs in post-conflict Northern Ireland. They will be able to share their views, discuss barriers that can prevent women from influencing policy and help develop strategies to create future change. The Mayor of Derry is urging the public to support two of the city’s most worthy charities at a special Flag Day being held in the city centre on Sunday afternoon (July 27). Mayor Cllr Brenda Stevenson will be joining a team of volunteers taking to the streets to collect for Something Special, which provides support and opportunities for people with learning difficulties, and Circle of Support for Autism Families, a vital network for those caring for children with Autism.
