Four Belfast men set off tomorrow to take on a 1,200 cycle ride around the island of Ireland

Cyclists Aidan McKegney, pictured left, with Daniel McGee, Michael Henry, and Paul Pelan (who are calling themselves the ‘Four Musketeers’) leave Belfast tomorrow (July 29).

They aim to cycle a coastal circuit of Ireland, taking in the most easterly, southerly, westerly and northerly points on the island, covering approximately 1,200 miles, in just two weeks.

They are raising funds for Friends of the Cancer Centre which is a local charity that supports Northern Ireland cancer patients and their families – https://www.friendsofthecancercentre.com

Daniel said he knows at first hand how great this charity is as he was successfully treated for prostrate cancer himself during the Covid lockdown by excellent staff that the charity funds such as Dr Juan and clinical nurse specialists Alison and Una.

“Every penny donated will go directly to the charity,” said Daniel..

As well as fundraising, Danny said he also wants to raise awareness by encouraging men to think about things going on in their body and not to be afraid of getting checked if they have any concerns.
