Hundreds of people who work in the arts in Northern Ireland attended a protest meeting in the Black Box in Belfast yesterday (Tuesday, April 25) to voice their anger at threatened cuts in the industry.

Irish actors Ian McElhinney and Adrian Dunbar provided video messages during the rally as they hit out at any plans to impose further cuts on the arts sector.

Hope Street actor Rachel Tucker also addressed the protest.

Paul W. Fleming, the General Secretary of the actors’ union Equity, said that his organisation was determined to oppose the cuts.
